Warmer days are here again

The Breadalbane Reading Room at Kenmore on Loch Tay will once again be offering Warm Welcome lunches to members of the local community.

Thanks to a grant from Perth and Kinross Warm Welcome Fund, a generous donation from the Stuart MacPhail Trust and support from Taymouth Castle, the Breadalbane Reading Room will open its doors from 12.00pm to 2.30pm every Wednesday, starting on the 15th January and continue until the 26th March.

A spokesperson on behalf of the Breadalbane Reading Room committee, said they were delighted once again, to offer this service to members of the community: “our team of volunteers are looking forward to opening our doors, serving soup, bread rolls and hot drinks, while folk enjoy a blether in front of of the log fire.”

“In small, isolated rural communities like ours, the opportunity for folk to congregate doesn’t always present itself. Hopefully, the Warm Welcome lunches will allow that to happen and build on the success of those we held last year. We are very grateful to our donors for their most generous support and of course, our team of volunteers without whom, we would not be able to offer this service to the community.”

Community Action Plan - Have your say

We are developing a Community Action Plan for the Glenlyon and Loch Tay area covering both the Glenlyon and Kenmore and District Community Council's areas. The plan will set out our community's aspirations and identify projects and initiatives that will positively impact our area.

Community Enterprise is helping us with this project and has undertaken a consultation survey. The results are being analysed and will be available soon.

Wednesday night is music night

Every Wednesday night is music night at the Breadalbane Reading Room. Organised by well known artists and musicians, Dougie and Hilary Law, twenty one musicians attended the inaugural session to enjoy their mutual love of music making in the warm ambience of the newly refurbished Reading Room.

We look forward to welcoming Dougie, Helen and all the music makers back to the Reading Room next Wednesday at 7-10pm.
